About Us

History

Central Credit Union of Florida was originally established in 1961 as a credit union for the employees of other credit unions in the Pensacola area. Through time, Central Credit Union has merged numerous credit unions into their field of membership from all over the state of Florida…Sacred Heart Hospital Credit Union, Enlisted Men’s Credit Union, Jacksonville Central Credit Union, and the most recent to include Endeavor Federal Credit Union. We are now serving over 14,000 members with 4 locations in Pensacola and 1 location in Panama City. Central’s field of membership includes anyone living, working, or attending school in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Bay and Duval counties in Florida.

Community Involvement

The Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals. Children’s Miracle Network’s pledge is to put children first in all it does and keep 100 percent of donations in the community where they are raised. Central has joined other credit unions in the gulf coast area with year round fund raisers including the sale of candy bars at each branch location. We partner with other credit unions every year in the fall for the annual Children’s Miracle Network night at Sacred Heart Hospital. This event is done in part by local credit unions in Escambia and Santa Rosa County. Central’s efforts are making a difference for this great cause, and we compliment our staff for making it successful year after year.

The Pensacola Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in October of 1984 to assist out of town families needing to stay near their child receiving treatment at a local hospital. The 7- bedroom House is located on the campus of Sacred Heart Hospital and has provided temporary lodging for over 13,500 adults and children. Central’s employees help raise money each year for Kaps for Kids by purchasing shirts and hats. In the spring of each year Central employees participate in casual day for Kaps for Kids.

Central teams with United Way in August of each year to promote Cram the Van. Each branch participates by having the Cram the Van drop box at each of our 4 locations in Pensacola. Our members and staff give generous donations of school supplies for eligible children living in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Central has formed a sponsorship with Junior Achievement and West FL High School. By volunteering as a JA classroom teacher volunteer, Central helps students understand the economics of business and concepts to become successful in the workplace and life. We recognize the importance of our young people and look forward to doing our part to make a difference in their success.
