Mobile Deposit

With Mobile Deposit, CCUFL makes it quick and easy to deposit checks right from your mobile device.

Mobile Deposit is convenient, fast, safe, and secure. By reducing trips to the credit union you will save time and money by eliminating the cost of envelopes and postage.

Step 1

Before you begin you will need to endorse the back of your check and include the following information:

  • Your signature as written on the payee line
  • "For Mobile Deposit Only CCUFL"
  • Account Number
  • Date

Step 2

Log into the Mobile App. From the menu select mobile deposit.

iPhone User

For iPhone users, first click on the "Choose Account" menu and select which account/share you would like to deposit to.

Next, click on the "Amount to Deposit" field and enter in the dollar amount that is written on the check.

Then click the "Front of Check" button, your phone's camera will display a box in which to line up the check.

Align the check in the box and take the picture. You will be brought back to the first screen where you must click on the "Back of Check" button. Follow the same steps as you did for taking a picture of the front of the check.

Once you verify everything is correct, click on "Submit Check" and you're done!

Android Users

For Android users, first click on the "Choose Account" menu and select which account/share you would like to deposit to.

Then click the "Take Picture of Check Front" button, your phone's camera will display a box in which to line up the check.

Align the check in the box and take the picture.

After you take the picture of the front of the check, you will be brought back to the first screen where you must click on "Back of Check" button. 

Follow the same steps as you did for taking a picture of the front of the check.

Once you verify everything is correct, click on "Submit Check" and you're done!

Tips for taking the perfect picture:

Make sure the check edges fit within the frame that is displayed on the camera.

Place the check on a flat, dark surface; such as a table cloth or a desk.

Remove anything that might be attached to the check, such as a paystub.

Make sure you have adequate lighting; dark shadows over the check may cause an issue when trying to deposit.

What Mobile devices support Mobile Deposit?

The mobile device platforms currently supported are Android and iPhone or iPad (“Apple” mobile device).

Is there a fee to use Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is a free service for members.

How do I sign up for Mobile Deposit?

All users of E-Branch are eligible to download the mobile banking app on your Android and iPhone or iPad (“Apple” mobile device).  Mobile deposit is included in the Mobile Banking App.

How do I make a deposit using Mobile Deposit? 

  1. From your Mobile Banking home page, select the “Mobile Deposit” menu
  2. Select the appropriate saving/checking account in which you wish to deposit the check
  3. Enter the amount of the check
  4. Capture a photo of the front of the check
  5. Capture a photo of the back of the check
  6. Submit:   “Item deposited successful” will display 

How do I sign the back of my check for Mobile Deposit?

To endorse the check, include the following information on the back of the check(s):

  • For Mobile Deposit Only CCUFL
  • Account Number
  • Sign
  • Date

What types of accounts accept Mobile Deposits?

Mobile Deposits can be made to your savings, checking, or money market account.

What are the guidelines for acceptable Mobile Deposits?

 Checks that are properly payable to the primary member or joint member

  • Checks that have not been altered
  • Must bear all required and authorized endorsements
  • Must be payable in US dollars and drawn on a bank in the United States
  • Must not be stale dated (must not be more that 6 months from the written date on the check)

What types of checks are not eligible for mobile deposit?

Example of checks not eligible for mobile deposit:

  • Bonds
  • Travelers Checks
  • Money orders
  • Checks payable to anyone other than you the member or joint owners of the account
  • Replacement checks or checks that have been previously returned NSF

How many checks can be included in one Mobile Deposit? Can multiple Mobile Deposits be submitted each day?

Only one check can be included in each Mobile Deposit but multiple Mobile Deposits can be submitted daily as long as the accumulated dollar amount of the Mobile Deposit does not exceed the daily Deposit limit.

What should I do with the check once it has been successfully deposited?

You must securely store each original check for a period of sixty (60) days after deposit to your Central account. After such period expires, you will destroy the original check in a secure manner. You understand and agree that you are responsible for any loss caused by your failure to secure the original check.

How do I view my Mobile Deposit history?

iPhone: Select the Mobile Deposit History Tab at the top right corner of the mobile deposit page. A listing of your scanned Mobile Deposits will be displayed. By selecting the requested deposit date/amount, the requested Mobile Deposit details along with a copy of the item will display on your mobile device. 

Android:  Select the View History tab from the Menu Options on the mobile deposit page. A listing of your scanned Mobile Deposits will be displayed. By selecting the requested deposit date/amount, the requested Mobile Deposit details along with a copy of the item will display on your mobile device.

Remote deposit capture for Central Credit Union is Mobile Deposit.

Tips for taking quality photos using your Android and iPhone/iPad:

Lighting Conditions: Bright but indirect light is best. Placing the check too close to lighting sources may cause shadows.

  • Background surface: Any surface of a solid color that contrasts with the check is best. Use a dark-color surface for light checks; a light-color surface for dark checks.
  • Document Zooming: Make sure that the bottom of the check is aligned with the base guideline on the camera when taking the picture.
  • Image Size: Use the frame guidelines to properly zoom and scale. Make sure the entire check appears in the frame and fills the space as much as possible.
  • Focus: to focus image, tap device screen, this will bring item into focus.
